Sinopse: Na TV em 1966, os seriados filmados tinham como objetivo de marketing divertir as famílias e os pré-adolescentes, fazendo com que os estúdios americanos produzissem mais e mais comédias. Era um bom momento para ressucitar o homem-morcego dos gibis. O produtor William Dozier não queria, entretanto, rechear as telinhas com um herói amargurado. A solução foi transformar Batman em comédia, colocando um liquidificador à linguagem das histórias em quadrinhos, os clichês dos antigos cine-seriados da década de 40, e a estética psicodélica daqueles tempos. Tudo com muito exagero é claro! Da linguagem dos antigos seriados aproveitou-se a fórmula " será que ele irá escapar? ". A história era sempre dividida em dois episódios, que eram exibidos semanalmente nos Estados Unidos e, dependendo da emissora, diariamente no Brasil.
